About the Author, George Pierce Baker

George Pierce Baker (1866Β–1935) was a highly respected theatre scholar. He founded the celebrated "47 Workshop,” a class on playwriting techniques and a laboratory for experimental plays. He taught at Harvard and Yale, and wrote several books, including The Development of Shakespeare as a Dramatist and Modern American Plays.
