Library Journal
This book critiques the Roman Catholic bishops' pastoral letter, Economic Justice for All (1986), from several points of view and discusses ethical issues its criticism of liberalism raises as well as the liberal and conservative political and theological responses. The book concludes by considering Third World liberation theology and dependency theory, and examines the solutions to political and economic ethics issues these movements offer. This comprehensive examination of these issues is accessible to the informed layperson as well as the scholar, but is not designed for casual perusal. Although written from a Roman Catholic perspective, the book also considers the ethics of public policies. Recommended for academic libraries.Book Details
