Twelve contributions analyze the economic challenge facing countries in the Middle East and North Africa from the perspective of local development scholars and intellectuals. Contributions are divided into three sections: perspectives from the Maghreb, the Mashreq, and from Turkey, Sudan, Iran, and the Gulf.
