Synopsis

Wubbzy can't wait to decorate eggs for the annual Easter egg hunt with his friends. But when Widget builds a machine to decorate and hide the eggs, the egg hunt is suddenly a lot less fun. Then the machine breaks and it looks like the egg hunt is ruined! Can Wubbzy save the day?

Children's Literature

Wubbzy is in charge of the big Easter egg hunt. When he shows Widget how to dye the eggs, Widget comes up with a faster way. She creates the Eggcellento 3000, which decorates "eggs all by itself." Wubbzy and friend Walden begin to hide the eggs, but Widget says it is taking too long and shows them how the Eggcellento 3000 can do it much quicker. When Wubbzy's friends have difficulty finding the eggs, Widget can make the Eggcellento 3000 find them, too. When she decides that the contraption is taking too long, Widget pushes the remote control and the machine begins to smoke. She tells Wubbzy she will fix it but Wubbzy replies, "Don't fix the machine The whole fun of Easter eggs is doing it yourself." Viewers of the Nick Jr. TV show "Wow! Wow! Wubbzy" will recognize the characters in this slim paperback. There is no drama in the matter-of-fact text. The best part of the book is the interactive "lift-the-flaps" but even those do not add much to the story. This probably works best in the format for which it was created: animated cartoon.
