Editorials

Carolyn Phelan

Heavily illustrated with excellent, full-color photographs, this volume from the Endangered Animals series introduces readers to 10 species that live in the grasslands of Africa, Australia, and North America. Brief discussions of grassland ecology and preservation begin and end the book. In between, two-page sections feature two or three photos of each animal, along with facts on its physical features, behavior, and status as an endangered species. While the writing could be clearer at times, the book is suggested for libraries needing more introductory materials on the subject.
