Synopsis

Ethics and Sex presents a systematic study of the nature and moral significance of human sexuality and the major issues in sexual morality.

The book offers both a critical analysis of the key conceptions of human sexuality, such as discussions of the romantic approach to sex and the understanding of sex as body language, and addressess issues in sexual morality, including monogamy, adultery, prositution and pedophilia. Igor Primoratz shows that many of the prohibitions that make up conventional sexual morality cannot withstand critical scrutiny and should be rejected. He claims that there are no sexual ethics, since sex has no particular moral significance.

Ethics and Sex provides an accessibly written introduction to the many issues associated with sexual activity.
