Overview

This book is based on the 1971 Christian A. Herter Lecture Series at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C. Each of three lecturers-Senator Mark O. Hatfield, Paul Ramsey, and Arthur Schlesinger, Jr.-was asked to address several questions on ethics and politics. Lefever, after editing the three lectures, also wrote an introductory essay-hence four perspectives.
