EU Economic Governance and Globalisation
Miriam L. Campanella (Editor), Eijffinger Sylvester C. W.Log in to track your reading progress.
Overview
The contributors of these seven papers were asked by Campanella (political science, U. of Turin, Italy) and Eijffinger (European financial and monetary integration, Tilburg U., the Netherlands) to identify ways European Union governance has affected national patterns of economic behavior and its impact on national economic performance, as well as whether central monetary institution of the Euro area is as successful as the US Federal Reserve. The authors approach the problem from differing disciplinary perspectives. They discuss such topics as concentric governance as a recipe for policy incoherence, how perceptions of globalization and liberalization prompt greater policy coordination, international economic relations and transatlantic trade, and problems of legitimacy and transparency.
