Chronologically arranged, the titles discuss the areas from ancient times to the 20th century, including the individuals and empires that influenced their exploration and development. For example, Ganeri includes a discussion of the Greek presence in India; Ibazebo describes the African slave trade and the impact it had on the history of the continent.
