About the Author, Susan D. Jewell

Susan D. Jewell is a wildlife biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Washington, D.C. She spent 12 years studying wildlife in the Everglades and Florida Keys with the Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Park Service, and the National Audubon Society. Ms. Jewell is also a freelance writer of environmental issues and is the author of Exploring Wild South Florida and Gators, Gourdheads, and Pufflings: A Biologist Slogs, Climbs, and Wings Her Way to Save Wildlife.
