Do you know a girl who can list all the top designers? Who knows the difference between a pump and an espadrille? Who grabs the fashion magazines as soon as they come out? If so, this book might be one to consider for her. It is part of the "10 Things You Need To Know Aboutβ¦" series. The book is set up in a list format. The main parts of the book are the ten spreads that each deal with one aspect of fashion. Some examples are "Fashion comes in all shapes and sizes" and "Hollywood sets the fashion tone for the rest of us." The book also includes a quiz called "What's your style stamp" as well as a glossary and an index. The book is colorful and fun but the text has a few difficult words that might throw off younger readers. Although the book is geared toward eight to twelve years olds, it is also very appropriate (maybe even more appropriate) for middle school and early high school students who are low readers.
