Overview

Master the basics of modems, fax, and text telephony technologies, including how modems and faxes work in an IP network infrastructure

  • Learn to design a fax/modem/TTY network which will minimize issues when migrating to IP Telephony
  • View real-life case studies that apply the book's information to your own networks
  • Reference the detailed configuration guide to quickly handle any configuration task from simple two device setups to complex solutions involving thousands of gateways and fax/modem/TTY devices

Fax, Modem, and Text for IP Telephony guides you through the deployment of fax, modem, and TTY technologies in their IPT environments. The authors first explain the theories and teach you about these technologies. Once armed with this core knowledge, you can then easily grasp the fundamentals and important details of network design. Finally, the authors navigate information on configuring and troubleshooting fax/modem/TTY in IPT environments, giving you a complete arsenal of skills and knowledge to easily handle any network scenario involving these solutions.

Although some web forums and other miscellaneous technical documents provide some of this fax/modem/TTY information, no current resources are all encompassing and full of the pertinent technical details that are critical to successful deployments. Fax, Modem, and Text for IP Telephony on the other hand takes you from the very basics of how fax, modem, and TTY technologies work to advanced IP solutions and troubleshooting.
