The three-volume set offers a representative sampling of primary documents which reflect the controversies, issues, and events which have shaped current federal abortion policy. Presidential positions, federal family planning regulation (domestic and international), fetal tissue research, and government briefs and arguments in abortion- related Supreme Court litigation are the subject of Volume 2 (two books). A case study format is followed, beginning with a brief textual overview of the relevant controversy followed by an itemized list of documents.
