Overview

Feng Shui Before and After uses the ancient art of feng shui to help you improve the energetic quality and visual appeal of your home or office. The book tells you how to find your most and least fortunate directions, your element and star number, and how to use the "magic square" to discover which sectors of your house relate to specific areas of your life.

This book will show you how to transform your home or office, restoring harmony and maximizing the flow of good energy or "chi" in your life by doing things as simple as rearranging furniture, redecorating using the right colors, or adding a mirror, plant, or wind-chime. With beautiful "before and after" color photographs and informative text, this title contains everything you need to improve any area's feng shui.

Synopsis

This book taps into two powerful trends in American culture: a national passion for home d#cor and remodeling, and a growing interest in the ancientChinese art of feng shui. In Feng Shui Before & After Stephen Skinner has written a comprehensive, practical, hands-on guide to using feng shui to make redecorating choices in any room in a house, from the kitchen to a nursery. The founder of the internationally popular magazine, Feng Shui for Modern Living, Skinner shows how rearranging furniture, a mirror, changing colors, or even hanging a wind chime can restore harmony and maximize the flow of "ch'i", or good energy, to a room. Feng Shui Before & After also explores the feng shui concepts of the "magic square," the ability to discover which sectors of a house relate best to specific areas of a homeowner's life, and the most and least fortunate directions in a room. A perfect balance between a Western demand for reinvention and a timeless Eastern art, this is an essential book for anyone searching for harmony within the walls of his or her own home.
