Children's Literature - Denise W. McGrain

Tom Sinclair is a senior in Peter Cooper School who is looking for his missing girlfriend, Alice Brown. Tom has been reading Alice's diary and finds that there are many things he did not know about her. Like her friend Chi-Chi, who sends Tom an email asking that he meet her inside the Irish Hunger Memorial the next day. Could this be the Prophet? One day Tom begins to receive video clips of Alice from someone called "the Watcher." Why, are they trying to torture him? Then he finds a dead body in his bedroom, after calling 911, two Detectives, Keller and DeSantis of the NYPD, who are working the case of missing Alice, are now looking for him. Tom is beginning to fear not only for his life and Alice's, but also for the lives of those close to Alice. Where will Tom and Alice's friends' search lead them, and who might be harmed next? After all that has happened, Tom begins to wonder if he will ever find Alice. This book has a slow start, but as you continue to read, it will soon grab you as you look into the lives of the different characters in this story.
