Synopsis

Introductory statistics texts do not consider non-linear regression, and textbooks that do are advanced treatments for mathematicians. So pharmacological researchers Motulsky (U. of California-San Diego) and Christopoulos (U. of Melbourne) offer a hands-on practical introduction for biologists, leaving out all but the most elemental mathematics. The text is a companion for the computer program GraphPad Prism (v.4), but they say most of it would apply to any similar program. Annotation © 2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
