Freddie never knew his dad, and his mom moved him to Albuquerque, New Mexico after her husband's death so that Freddie could grow up without his father's tragic death hanging over him. The story follows Freddie growing up as a shy child, but seemingly destined to become an actor, against the wishes of his mother. Written to inspire young people to follow their dreams, the story is well-written, albeit about yet another pop icon.
