About the Author, H. J. Arrington, JoAnn E. Kitchel

H.J. Arrington is also the author of The Heart of a Friendship. She has taught elementary and middle school and has been a K-12 reading specialist. She began tutoring at the age of fifteen and loves to share the joy of literature and language with children and parents. Currently residing in Kentucky, she is an assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education at the University of Kentucky.

JoAnn E. Kitchel currently resides in Nashua, New Hampshire, where she is a freelance illustrator. Native to Lansing, Michigan, she received her B.A. from Central Michigan University and has served in the Peace Corps as an art teacher. She is also the illustrator of The Heart of aFriendship and other children's books, such as The Farewell Symphony and Raven's Gift.
