Unfortunately very few will have the persistence to actually read this book. While the text is difficult, those curious about how treaties are negotiated, and especially those between super powers, will find it fascinating. The interesting aspect of this book is not necessarily the arms control questions themselves but the techniques, tricks, and traps of high power negotiating. This should be important to students of foreign affairs and political science. Establishing television criticism as a form of interpretive examination, Buxton (sociology of the media, U. of Paris) analyzes a wide range of British and American television series from the 1950s to the present in terms of underlying ideological strategy and historical determinants. He organizes his analysis in three broad categories: the series (e.g. The Prisoner, The Avengers); and the police series (e.g. Kojak, Miami Vice). Distributed in the US and Canada by St. Martin's.
