Overview

The moon beamed down genially on the turrets and battlements of Blandings Castle. Sleep, however, eluded Clarence, ninth Earl of Emsworth. To be compelled to play host to his younger son, Freddie, was enough; add his sister Veronica and a chap called Tipton Plimsoll and you have a situation at which the doughtiest earl might quail…

P. G. Wodehouse was born in 1881 and died in 1975 on St Valentine's Day, only weeks after being knighted. He is most famous for the creation of Jeeves and Wooster.

The son of Sir Donald Sinden, Jeremy Sinden's stage career included spells with the RSC and the Chichester Festival Theatre. He made over 100 TV appearances, which included Brideshead Revisited (Emmy Award nomination), The Far Pavilions, Mountbatten: The Last Viceroy, The Expert and Danger UXB. His films have included Star Wars, Ascendancy and Chariots of Fire. He died in 1996.

Library Journal

Two non-Jeeves titles from 1947 and 1926, respectively, are the latest in Overlook's series of sweet little hardcover Wodehouse reprints. Like the O'Donnells above, these, too, are a novel (Full Moon) and a collection of shorts. Wodehouse never goes out of style, so jump on these. Copyright 2007 Reed Business Information.

About the Author, P. G. Wodehouse

Comic timing would seem less of the essence in literature until you read the English wit of P. G. Wodehouse, who shows just how a well-placed comment or properly inflected phrase can create a response that is often all too rare during a reading session: A loud, hearty laugh.
