Overview
The future of Europe has changed somewhat since Coffey's (U. of St. Thomas, Minnesota) first forecast in 1995 and 1996, but he says it has more proceeded down the road he predicted than strayed much from it. He discusses the enlargement of the European Union in terms of criteria for membership, the candidate countries, negotiations, and implications. Then he considers the Euro, reforms he sees necessary in institutions and policy, the European Convention, and a future common foreign and defence policy. He appends a chronology and several relevant documents. Annotation Β©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, ORBook Details
