Future of Global Financial Services

Grosse (international business, The American Graduate School of International Management) examines current situations and trends in various banking and financial services, including their environment, competitive strategies, and future. He begins by describing financial service systems and examining the "core competencies" necessary for success, or at least for survival. He then examines the new technologies and methodologies, including financial engineering and virtualization of services, followed by the role of regulatory agencies. He describes the financial landscape in the real financial worlds of Europe, the US, and Asia, and how allfinanz institutions operate within certain cultures, including their approaches to international banking. In the future, he feels institutions and financial cultures with competencies that include flexibility and the ability to create instruments, services, and structures that meet commercial and consumer expectations efficiently will be most competitive. Robert Grosse is Professor of International Business and Director of Research at Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management in Arizona. He has more than 20 years experience of teaching international finance, international banking, finance in emerging markets, and other finance and global strategy seminars.
