About the Author, Mike Baynham

MIKE BAYNHAM is Professor of TESOL at the University of Leeds, UK, and director of the Centre for Language Education Research. He is co-coordinator of the AILA Research Network on Language and Migration. He researches and publishes on literacy, language and migration and issues of teaching and learning in Adult ESOL.

MASTIN PRINSLOO is an Associate Professor in the School of Education at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, working in Applied Language and Literacy Studies. His publications include The Social Uses of Literacy (co-edited with Mignonne Breier) and Literacies, Global and Local (co-edited with Mike Baynham).
