Library Journal

A touching authorized biography by journalist O'Rourke of Baroni (1930-84), a parish priest. Though Baroni's first four years of ministry ended in a nervous breakdown, he then found his calling ministering to inner city blacks in Washington, D.C. Baroni's intense personal struggles and his social justice ministry make him an appealing figure. Baroni also challenged Cardinal O'Boyle to send a small delegation of priests to march for civil rights in Selma, Alabama. Recommended for seminary and public libraries.
