Getting a Haircut

PreS-Gr 1-The chapter headings in these clearly written books ask questions that enable children to focus on the topics at hand. Color photos support the ideas presented, and each title includes a quiz, picture glossary, and note to parents and teachers. Haircut begins, "Why Do You Need a Haircut?" The text states: "Some people like short hair./They cut it when it looks long./Some people want a new hairstyle./A haircut is a different hairstyle." The book goes on to discuss where to get one, how it feels, etc. Sleeping Over asks, "What Is a Sleepover?" and answers, "A sleepover is sleeping away from home. You can stay close to your house or far away-." The remaining chapters describe what it is like at a hotel, what to bring on a sleepover, and more.
