School Library Journal
Gr 5-8 As there are never enough joke books, this collection of one-liners, puns, and riddles should be an entertaining addition everywhere. Young readers will enjoy reading them to each other or to themselves. The print is large and clear; riddle answers are printed in italics directly under the question. The potential monotony of each page is relieved by the humorous black-and-white line drawings and boxed-in stories and jokes. Although much of the material is standard, some is quite up-to-date, including a ``yuppie'' joke. As the chapter titles such as ``Yuck'' or ``Fun Time'' are not always indicative of the topics in each, the index is helpful. Meryl Silverstein, Meyer Levin Junior High School, Brooklyn
