A text written for non-science undergraduates introducing the concepts of global environmental change focuses on three aspects: the basic processes that produce natural planetary change, including earth and geological manifestations; the impact of change on humans--floods, earthquakes,drought--and the subsequent effect on agriculture and food supplies; and the ways in which human alter the planet through pollutants, habitats, hunting, and population growth.
