KLIATT

Known as the Queen of Latin Pop, Gloria Estefan is portrayed here as a quiet Cuban refugee who had to grow up amid the hardships of moving to a new country and with a seriously ill father. She escaped all her sadness when she met Emilio, the lead singer of a band. He later became her husband and catapulted Gloria to fame. A bus accident in New Jersey that broke her back forced her through painful physical therapy into a miraculous comeback, and to the joy of the birth of her daughter, Emily. It is an amazing life and Estefan's story will be truly appreciated by readers. However, if you already have any other biographies about the singer, there really isn't any new information covered in this one.
