About the Author, Peter Irons

Peter Irons, award-winning author of The Courage of Their Convictions and A People's History of the Supreme Court, among others, is professor emeritus of political science at the University of California, San Diego. A Harvard Law School graduate and civil liberties lawyer, he is a member of the Supreme Court bar.
