Gr 3-5Green's account is smooth and easy flowing. Ten brief chapters describe the quiet, petite gymnast's accomplishments, setbacks, and joys. Her personality and tenacious determination are shown in her behavior during victories and defeats. Limited descriptions of gymnastics moves and events are included; more emphasis is placed on Miller as a person. Charts of her international and national competitions along with awards and honors conclude the book. Similar in content and quality to Krista Quiner's Shannon Miller (Bradford, 1996), Green's biography is for younger readers. An informative look at the life of an international gymnast.Janice C.
