Susan Heyboer O'Keefe has written several books for young readers, including One Hungry Monster. She lives in Edgewater, New Jersey with her family.

Hideko Takahashi is the illustrator of Beach Play by Marsha Hayles and The Ding Dong Clock by Carol Behrman (both Holt). Originally from Japan, she now lives in Los Angeles, California.
