Overview

Thanks to an exceptional collection of archives and veteran testimony, this work about the GvB division is the most complete and rich, concerning historical and iconographical documents which have ever been made. This book contains more than 800 unpublished photos and documents, including color photographs and objects which were owned by veterans or items found on the scene of the fighting.

From its formation in France to its arrival at the front of Normandy, we follow the men and the actions of this division until the end of the Battle of Normandy in the first volume. The second volume will deal with the fighting in Lorraine; it will also describe the end of the division in Germany, with an equivalent iconography.
