Gr 2-4 --This descriptive and simple experiment book introduces readers to grasses and the characteristics that distinguish them from other plants. Insects, worms, and other animals living in the grass are briefly discussed and illustrated. There are some easy demonstrations using grass seed and text on how to catch and care for insects. The book doesn't have enough information or guidance to make it a necessary addition to most collections, and the lack of an index limits its scope. Although written for older readers, the ``Action'' series (Watts) includes books on insects and trees and is more informative. --Margaret C.
