Overview

Gray wolves, also known as timber wolves, are some of the most misunderstood mammals in North America. Often seen as cruel, evil creatures, in reality wolves are extremely intelligent and shy. Living primarily in packs, they hunt, raise their young, and travel together. Although abundant in Canada, wolves were almost completely eliminated from America due to over-hunting. As more people understand the true nature of these beautiful animals, their chance for survival continues to grow along with their numbers.
