Gr 7-10Activism and commitment unite these three international organizations. Italicized text in boxes set off from the main narrative accompany bountiful full-color photographs and illustrations depicting rescues, leaders, rallies, and other actions central to these sometimes controversial agencies. The books offer excellent descriptions of their goals, history, and current activities. The texts read smoothly but require good reading comprehension. Especially informative are the facts surrounding the formation of the Red Crescent in Muslim countries. The authors have packed enormous amounts of material between the covers of each book. Descriptions of sources for readers interested in getting involved with these groups are included.
