Overview

Physically and mentally, pitching is the most demanding job in baseball, and the strains are even greater on the young player, who, in the middle of such pressure, is still maturing in his body and in his mind.

In THE GUIDE FOR YOUNG PITCHERS, veteran Little League coach Don Oster imparts decades of knowledge on forming young pitchers. In his clear, knowledgeable tone, he dissects the mechanics of the perfect delivery, and stresses the foundations of form over flashy pitches.

Chapters include:

Getting in Shape - The Mechanics of Pitching - The Pitches - Practicing Pitching - What it Takes to Be a Good Pitcher - Pitching to Win - Defensive Play - Mopping Up

Concise and authoritative, THE GUIDE FOR YOUNG PITCHERS is as indispensable as cleats and a glove.
