This board book has a cut out hand grip and a curved shape. As it says on the back cover, "Perfect for little hands to hold!" It certainly is convenient. The "Happy Baby" books with their crisp white pages and colorful photographs have a resemblance to those produced by Dorling Kindersley. That is not a negative but a compliment. In this offering, young children are encouraged to count. The Arabic numeral as well as the word are printed at the top of the page and the text counts and names the item(s) displayed. It is an interesting collection ranging from one colorful parrot to five fingers and ten delicious-looking strawberries. The pages in a variety of colors also offer an opportunity to point and name colors as well as identifying the many objects depicted. It is an attractive book and one that young kids should enjoy. 2001, St Martin's Press,
