Overview

Harpswell's uniquely scattered geography has shaped its destiny. With a long peninsula known as the Neck and more than 30 islands of varying sizes, the town has from the start been a fishing and farming community. This fascinating visual history brings to life the changes in Harpswell since the 1870s including images of the early, harsh life on the coast and later postcard views of a family resort area.
