This is a benign depiction of the nursing home for which the author works as a nurse. We are introduced to the nurses, aides, and administratorsdevoted and not so devotedwho do a difficult job with difficult and unappreciative patients. The book's generally dull and monotonous tone may very well reflect the reality of nursing home life, but doesn't make for very interesting reading. There is, however, a valuable chapter on the limitations of Medicare and the consequent negative effect on health care. An optional purchase. Anne Twitchell, E.P.A.
