About the Author, Ron Russo

Ron Russo has taught marine biology, natural history and interpretation for more than 35 years. He recently retired as Chief of Interpretive Services for the East Bay Regional Park District in Oakland, California so that he could devote his expertise and energies to field teaching and completing several book projects. Ron has served as an instructor for the California Academy of Sciences and at the California State Park Ranger Training Center at Asilomar. He teaches regularly for the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and many other state and federal agencies. Ron is the author of over 25 articles in national and international magazines and journals and is the author of six field guides, including: Pacific Coast Fishes, Pacific Coast Mammals, Pacific Intertidal Life, Mountain States Mammals, and Hawaiian Reefs. He is an outstanding field naturalist and an awe-inspiring teacher-being in the field with Ron is an experience not to be missed! Once is never enough!
