About the Author, Keith Steiner

Keith James Steiner is part of the third generation of the Steiner family to live in Hawaii. A graduate of Punahou School (1946), Yale University (1950), and Stanford Law School (1953), he practiced law in Hawaii for forty-four years until his retirement in 1999. He now serves as a Director of the Institute for Human Services, and of the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation. He also currently serves as a Mediator for the Hawaii Appellate Courts.

Keith Steiner and his wife Polly have three children and presently five grandchildren. He enjoys traveling, and successfully made it to the summit of Kilimanjaro, Tanzania in 1990 (over 19,000 feet). He also enjoys golf, skiing with friends, and collecting Island Curio postcards.
