Synopsis

Product Description From 1945 on, the United States became increasingly involved in the Vietnam War, until the Communist Party seized Saigon in 1975, causing millions of Vietnamese to flee Vietnam for freedom and human-rights protection. These refugees still require treatment for the inner wounds inflicted by the war. About the Author Duc Viet Nguyen grew up in a remote South Vietnamese village. During the war it was a free-fire zone in the battle between communists and non-communists. A witness to war in his teens, he became a high-ranking government official in South Vietnam as a young adult. Now, he is a political refugee in the United States and a writer for peace in exile.
