Synopsis

Explains the sense of hearing, including how the ear works.

Children's Literature

Part of "The Library of the Five Senses & the Sixth Sense," this text explains how ears work. The information is presented very simply without sacrificing accuracy. Diagrams are provided for each part of the ear; photographs and drawings also add visual interest. I found it distracting to have the phonetic guide to pronouncing the anatomic terms present within the text, especially when this was provided for simple terms such as "brain" and "signals." A glossary and index are provided.
