Overview

A world capital, New York City is endlessly visualized by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. Yet the architectural icons they envision, the Empire State Building, the United Nations, the Chrysler building, are all located in Manhattan, the smallest of the five boroughs. This stunning volume captures the glorious visual diversity of the entire Empire City, presenting Manhattan as the jewel in the crown, the gateway to the historic and thriving boroughs of New York.

Ariel views best capture this urban mosaic fronted by an unrivaled harbor, laced through by great rivers, connected by a web of spectacular bridges and myriad ferries. Each borough has its own array of street layouts, churches, businesses and parks that reflect different ethnic backgrounds, and result in vibrant and exciting neighborhoods.

Fresh urban planning has provided necklaces of new parks along the city's restored waterfronts: marinas serve boat-dwellers and sailing enthusiasts.

High Above New York presents this great metropolis as a whole; not only the ‘required’ major sites but also the little-known treasures.
