Children's Literature

With five or less words per page this is indeed a very early reader. Oswald, the blue octopus of Nickelodeon fame, is delighted that it is a fall day. He and his dog Weenie are out watching the leaves fall from the trees. Henry, on the other hand just refers to the leaves as a mess and is busy raking them up. Weenie has fun playing in the pile much to Henry's distress, but then they help pile them all back up again. It all seems a bit futile when a wind comes along and blows them around againβ€”hooray for fall! Simple bright illustrations fill each spread in this Pre-Level 1 book in the "Ready-To-Read" series. 2003, Simon Spotlight/Simon & Schuster, Ages 3 to 5.
