Overview

Horribly awkward comedy has never been so popular. The trend is for discomfort: we love to squirm at the social misfits and overbearing characters in The Office, we applaud Sacha Baron Cohen as he teases, and we adore the lowbrow characters who populate The Simpsons. Including features on animated fiction and comments on relative newcomers to the comedy scene—Peter Kay and Catherine Tate—this is a book which will delight all who have embraced the new wave of comedy.

Edwin Page is the author of two successful guides to contemporary idols, Quintessential Tarantino and Gothic Fantasy: The Films of Tim Burton, both published recently by Marion Boyars Publishers, Ltd.

Synopsis

A guide to the new wave of comedy hitting our TV screens today.
