we've been working to clean up outdoor air pollution in the past few years, indoor pollution is rarely addressed. It is a growing problem as we make homes and offices more energy efficient. Greenfield takes us through the buildings we inhabit daily; she points out sources of pollution and the symptoms they may cause; and she suggests ways to alleviate the problems. Some of her solutions (e.g., changing brands of cleaning products) are practical; others (increasing ventilation in sealed office buildings) more difficult. A ``pollution compendium'' lists pollutants and gives concentration figures and adverse health effects. This is a good buy. Rebecca Wondriska, Trinity Coll. Lib., Hartford, Ct.
