Overview

Horowitz's opening salvo shows why the Democrats can't be trusted with the nation's security. For years, the party has subordinated sound defense policy to a radical ideology untamed even by September 11. Horowitz's strategic powers are on full display in his enumeration of the principles for a winning political campaign. Returning to the subject of war, he concludes with an expose of the anti-American escapades of Noam Chomsky and his comrades of the unrepentant left.

Library Journal

This lively and opinionated book is aimed primarily at Republican true believers, giving the already-converted a bone on which to chew. It is unlikely to convince fence-sitters to join the cause. Horowitz, a well-known political pundit who documented his conversion from Left to Right in Radical Son: A Generational Odyssey, argues that Republicans must wage warfare against the enemy among us. The Democrats "rely on bribery and fear," contends Horowitz, and the Republicans are the only ones who can save the country from threats against our national security. Part 4 is a series of vignettes railing against Horowitz's favorite targets: Bill and Hillary Clinton, antiwar demonstrators during the Vietnam era, the 1960s, Noam Chomsky, and others. But once the author gets past these venomous attacks often setting up the Democrats as straw men he offers interesting and sometimes useful campaign advice, culminating in a comprehensive electoral program for the Republicans in 2002. Booknews

A former radical leftist turned far right-wing columnist, Horowitz attacks "leftist" targets from Bill Clinton to Noam Chomsky, blaming the "left" for the 9-11 attacks and other evils, and ruminates on how the Republican party can pin blame for all evil on the Democrats in order to win political campaigns.
