About the Author, Robin Padron

Robin Padron was raised in London, England until she moved to the United States as a teenager with her family. She attended Bucknell University, in Lewisburg, PA, and in 1987 received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.

Robin worked on Wall Street for several years after college, but after having children she was an at-home mom for many years. She currently lives in Connecticut with her two teenage sons, whom she homeschools.

Robin teaches math and does private math tutoring for public- and private-school students, as well as for homeschoolers.

Robin Padron showcases both her years of experience teaching math and her incisive wit in this terrific book. How do you teach math to your children without the negativity which seems to go hand-in-hand with mathematics instruction in the United States? My own experience as a homeschool parent has been the horrible occasion to overhear my children and almost all of their friends compare mathematics instruction to torture - literally.
