Synopsis
French, US, and Italian scholars mark the centennial of Edmund Husserl's work with expository and critical essays for students and colleagues. After an introductory essay discussing the first volume, Prolegomena to Pure Logic and characteristics of the work as a whole, they focus in turn on the six logical investigations in the second volume. Subsequent essays consider the importance of his early philosophy of mathematics on the work, his criticism of Brentano and modern philosophy in the Appendix, and the significance of revisions in the 1913 second edition.
